The Technical Sales Summer Intern will assist with pre-launch activities of FMC crop protection products. Working closely with the Technical Sales Manager (TSM), you will conduct evaluations for FMC's research authorization trials to gather data to support product launches of future seed treatments, foliar insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. You will also support the TSM in preparing the field demonstration site and hosting plot tours. Throughout the summer you will have the opportunity to learn about the benefits and characteristics of current FMC products, gain Sales experience and attend learning events such as Crop Diagnostic School, Provincial Government field tours, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates will be enrolled in a 4-year Agronomy, Plant Science, or related agricultural degree or diploma program having completed at least 2 years already.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic team player who contributes to building strong relationships with FMC Account Managers, retailers and growers.
- Committed to maintaining a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and protocols.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently while performing physical tasks as needed (lifting, bending, field walks). Must be capable of working in outdoor environments for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently
- Skilled in computer use (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to work independently from a home office.
- Willingness to travel frequently and spend nights away from home.
