At RPM, we're a small but agile team, so this role blends the responsibilities of a product owner, development project manager, and technical business analyst. You'll be the key connector between the Operations and Development teams, ensuring we build the right products, on time, and with impact.
We're looking for someone who thrives on solving real business problems with smart, scalable technology. You'll use your analytical mindset and technical fluency to guide development efforts that align with strategic goals and deliver value to our customers.
Core Responsibilities:
Requirements Management & Technical Understanding
- Translate Business Needs: Collaborate with Operations to break down high-level requirements into actionable user stories, wireframes, technical specs, and acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate Discovery: Lead workshops and interviews with stakeholders to gather, refine, and validate requirements.
- Design Solutions: Work with Operations and Senior Developers to ensure proposed features align with business needs and technical architecture.
Product Team Coordination
- Lifecycle Facilitation: Guide all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
- Team Alignment: Lead stand-ups and cross-functional meetings to ensure coordination across Development, Sales, Marketing, Support, and QA.
- Impediment Removal: Proactively identify and resolve blockers to maintain development momentum.
Project Planning & Execution
- Scope & Objectives: Define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with Operations and Development.
- Detailed Planning: Create and manage project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, and risk assessments. Lead sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Resource & Time Management: Allocate resources effectively, monitor time entries for accuracy, and ensure alignment with classification practices.
- Risk & Progress Tracking: Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies. Track milestones and report progress to stakeholders.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain clear documentation and provide timely updates to all relevant teams.
Quality Assurance & Delivery
- Testing Support: Facilitate Internal Acceptance Testing (IAT), guide users through test cases, and ensure solutions meet business needs.
- QA Collaboration: Partner with QA to develop comprehensive test cases and ensure coverage.
- Release Oversight: Manage deployment schedule and monitor post-launch performance for continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement
- Process Optimization: Evaluate and enhance development processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Retrospectives & Learning: Conduct post-project reviews and ensure flaw reports are documented and shared.
- Industry Awareness: Stay current with best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving project management techniques.
Key Skills & Qualities:

Systems Experience:
- JIRA – For sprint planning, backlog grooming, and issue tracking.
- Figma (or similar) – For wireframing, prototyping, and collaborating on UI/UX designs.
- Zendesk or Freshdesk (or similar) – For managing support tickets and gathering user feedback.
- Toggl (or similar) – Used by development and technical teams for time tracking.
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, hybrid work environment that combines home and office settings.
Salary Range:
$108,000 - $115,000 CAD
Travel Requirements:
Some travel is required; however, it is infrequent and limited.
