Your Role And Responsibilities
As part of the Hardware Team, you will be primarily involved in supporting various projects and sub-teams by expertly completing routine technical tasks to improve lab infrastructure and perform regular machine maintenance. Such machines will include air compressors, water filtration systems, and HVAC equipment. You will also be part of a rapid response team for assisting with issues related to the lab and general facilities of Xanadu. As you gain experience in providing these services, you will be working towards improving and documenting their standard operating and maintenance procedures.

In addition to the above duties, you will also contribute to:

  • Cleaning and organizing the lab
  • Performing maintenance and upgrades on the machines/systems
  • Helping to build and set up equipment (racks, tables, machines, etc.)
  • Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting building infrastructure systems, including plumbing, water systems, water chilling technology, and air compressors.

Note that the nature of this job requires you to be fully on-site - 12pm-9pm. Before applying, please make sure that you can commit to this.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Plumbing/mechanic/millwright apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in a laboratory environment

  • Experience with 1 or more of the following:

  • Plumbing

  • HVAC installation/repair
  • General mechanical work
  • Compressed-air distribution systems

  • Air compressors installation/repair

  • Detail-oriented with a positive attitude towards work

  • Able to work independently
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing skills for creating high-quality documentation

Preferred Qualifications And Experience

  • Experience with:

  • CNC Machining

  • Writing SOPs
  • Basic mechatronics (reading wiring diagrams, overloads, safety controls)
