Who we need
As our Data Solutions team continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and innovation-driven environment. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Data Products, the Senior Data Engineer will be a key member of the Data Solutions team, responsible for building scalable, high-quality data products within our AWS cloud environment.

This role focuses on enabling our business functions and reporting teams by designing robust, cloud-native data solutions, optimizing workflows, and delivering curated data assets that meet evolving business needs, all through deep expertise with AWS tools and architecture.

Working closely with Platform Engineering, Data Governance, and BI teams, you will leverage the full power of AWS to build and optimize data products that are standardized, secure, and aligned with enterprise data governance principles. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand strategic requirements and focus on delivering production-grade AWS-based solutions that power insights and innovation.

What you will do
  • Design and build end-to-end data products using AWS tools (e.g., Glue, Lambda, S3, Redshift, Step Functions);
  • Develop optimized, cloud-native data models that support Business Intelligence, reporting, and operational needs;
  • Perform data transformations, automate workflows, and validate data integrity across large, complex datasets using AWS services;
  • Translate complex business and technical logic into efficient AWS-based pipelines for reliable data flows;
  • Partner with BI teams and Analysts to deliver clean, curated, and well-documented data assets ready for reporting and visualization in Tableau;
  • Ensure data assets follow AWS best practices for compliance, scalability, and data governance;
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into complete, reliable, and optimized AWS data solutions;
  • Work hand-in-hand with Platform Engineers to align solutions with AWS infrastructure, ensuring performance, cost-efficiency, and cloud security;
  • Monitor, optimize, and scale AWS data workflows for peak performance;
  • Stay up to date with emerging AWS technologies and trends to foster innovation across the data landscape.

What you will bring
  • The education. Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • The experience. 7+ years of hands-on experience building data products using AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and S3. Background in data modeling, including relational, dimensional, and analytical models. Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks, workflow orchestration tools, and extensive use of Git for branching, merging, and conflict resolution. Experience in financial services and insurance is considered a definite asset.
  • The knowledge. Strong understanding of data management principles, including data quality, metadata management, and governance. Solid grasp of industry standards for data warehousing and modeling. Familiarity with agile development processes, particularly Scrum, is considered an asset.
  • The skills. Highly proficient in SQL and Python for data transformation, validation, and automation. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with BI teams, Platform Engineers, and Data Governance teams. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the capability to design solutions for complex data challenges.
