Position Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled
Accounting & Finance Manager
to oversee all core accounting, bookkeeping, and financial operations. This role blends hands-on bookkeeping with financial reporting, cash-flow oversight, and process improvement to ensure timely, accurate financials that support business growth.

You will manage daily accounting tasks-such as payables, receivables, reconciliations, and payroll-while also leading month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and departmental reporting. This position suits a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who can handle day-to-day accounting while maintaining a strong strategic perspective.

You will serve as the financial backbone of the organization, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and financial discipline across all departments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Full-Cycle Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Manage daily accounting including AP, AR, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
  • Record vendor invoices, receipts, and payments in QuickBooks Online or Sage.
  • Prepare and process biweekly payroll, including commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and chart of accounts.
  • Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for month-end close.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance for all transactions.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with variance analysis.
  • Track job-level and departmental performance, ensuring accurate job costing and margin reporting.
  • Maintain budget vs. actual reporting and collaborate on forecasts and cost controls.
  • Prepare and submit GST, PST, payroll remittances, and year-end filings on schedule.
  • Support external accountants during audits, reviews, or fiscal year-end.
  • Cash Flow & Financial Management
  • Monitor daily cash flow and ensure timely payment of obligations.
  • Manage AR aging, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Administer company credit cards, reimbursements, and expense reports.
  • Support budgeting, capital planning, and financial analysis.
  • Provide insights to enhance profitability, efficiency, and financial health.
  • Systems, Processes & Controls
  • Maintain and enhance internal systems, SOPs, and financial controls.
  • Ensure accurate integration between ServiceTitan and accounting platforms.
  • Streamline approval and purchasing workflows.
  • Maintain audit-ready digital filing systems in ClickUp or Google Drive.
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration
  • Partner with Service, Install, and Sales teams to ensure accurate cost and revenue tracking.
  • Support Install Coordinators and Service Managers with job profitability and margin reviews.
  • Communicate financial updates and reporting deadlines with department leads.
  • Provide training to administrative staff supporting financial tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of accounting and bookkeeping experience; construction/service industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, payroll, and tax compliance
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Sage; ServiceTitan integration experience an asset
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Experience with GST/PST filings, payroll remittances, T4s, and ROEs
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  • Experience in job costing and departmental financial reporting
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000-$75,000+, depending on experience
