The Manager, Finance is responsible for the end to end financials of the specialty and wellness solutions area of the business within the Benefit Solutions client segment at People Corporation. This includes financial reporting & analysis, cash flow management, business planning and forecasting, and delivery of business insights to support business decision for the division's senior leaders. The successful candidate will be a finance leader within the division, reporting to the Vice-President, Finance in Benefit Solutions and will serve as trusted business partner to the Senior Vice President, Growth Development and their business development and operations team. The candidate will be managing and developing 1 Financial Analyst.

The Finance Manager Will
Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, conveying the division's ability to meet, its financial, strategic, and operational objectives
  • Ensure accuracy of trial balances, opening and closing balances, and intercompany transfers within the division
  • Analyze variances and provide insights into risks and opportunities to senior management.
  • Develop and solidify key performance indicators to highlight trends, deepen insights beyond the initial revenue and expense drivers
  • Manage the internal commissions reporting and payment process

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Partner with business leaders to establish growth assumptions and project financial impacts of strategic decisions
  • Develop and monitor progress against annual financial targets
  • Forecast revenue streams (e.g., Local union contributions, premium transfers) and expense allocations.

Revenue & Premium Management

  • Validate premium collections and disbursements across locals and carriers.
  • Strengthen controls to increase payments and collections visibility, and continue to ensure timeliness.

Process Improvements

  • Develop automation solutions for data flow and data sharing to reduce or eliminate manual effort, improve accuracy, accelerate reporting
  • Implement best practices for financial controls and reporting efficiency.
  • Support system enhancements for accounting processes pertaining to specialty and wellness solutions

Compliance & Audit

  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation as needed.

To be successful as a Finance Manager with People Corporation, you will need:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in benefits administration or multi-employer plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and intercompany accounting.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and variance analysis.

The base salary range for this position is up to $115K per annum. Details of the total compensation package will be shared during the interview process.
