We are hiring a Ice Rink Attendant to work our Winery rink this winter. This position will report to the Groundskeeping and Maintenance team and will be primarily based at our Wayne Gretzky Estate property. The attendant will receive appropriate equipment training for the tractor/Zamboni, snow blower, and edger used to maintain the rink.

This teammate will be responsible for -

  • Keeping open communication with the Rink Manager on any questions or concerns for each day
  • Wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and proper weather gear
  • Maintaining a safe and clean Ice rink by performing ice maintenance operating the proper equipment for a well – functioning rink.
  • Cleaning the ice during each shift and for events or functions scheduled for the day
  • Maintaining the snow and rain on the ice and around the rink during each shift
  • Keeping record of the temperature of the chiller for each shift- any change in temperature to contact the Rink Manager (not sure if we need this in the job description it is part of their dailies)
  • Keeping a daily checklist provided on all equipment as well as the rink conditions and the weather.
  • Supporting grounds maintenance by replenishing salt bins located on the Gretzky and Trius property
  • Grounds check on Trius and Gretzky property for ice patches and salt, when necessary, in those areas.
  • Weekly hours are from Thursday -Sunday afternoon 3pm - 8pm so coverage throughout the week may be required for additional hours
