Out to Play offers an Independent School, a summer daycamp program, 1:1 Forest and Nature School experiences, Family programs and Open Pay-What-You-Can Drop-In programs onsite at the Out to Play Environmental Education Centre and at urban wild spaces across the city.

Out to Play's Forest and Nature School pedagogy is defined as child-centred, inquiry-driven, interest-led, educator-supported learning and connecting through play on the land. At the Out to Play Centre children spend most of every day outside and on the land, through all the seasons and through all the weather. This wholly outdoors, child-centred and play-based approach is unique and as such, Out to Play is also a demonstration site for childcare centres, colleges and universities.

Out to Play is hiring both summer day camp counsellors to work the downtown summer camp program.

This day camp is a partnership with the Canadian Museum of Nature, and offers 7-8 hr days with limited admin and maintenance tasks, alongside the responsibility of facilitating creative, playful and imaginative mentorship of children on the land, and science-based learning.

Children in this day camp spend time both indoors and outdoors, in neighbourhood parks and natural spaces, as well as touring the museum galleries.

You'll be working with a team of incredible educators who care very much about the children and our community of families. We value integrity, hard-work, a commitment to reflection and learning, and having a laugh at the end of the day.

Educators should be playful, creative, endlessly patient, outdoorsy and open to learning how to support the diverse needs of children ages 5-12 years old.

Please have the following :

Bilingual language skills

A First Aid certification

Active Ontario College of Teachers/ Early Childhood Education/ Forest and Nature School or Child and Youth work (or currently studying)

A Vulnerable Sector Police Check

An interest working outdoors in all kinds of weather
