The Role

An Assistant Coach with NWP may perform the following:

  • Assisting in practicing planning
  • Assisting in game preparation
  • Player development
  • Video Analysis
  • Participation in team meetings, practices, and activities
  • Travel, if applicable

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have at least 1-2 years coaching at the post-secondary or high school level. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

  • The ability to motivate student athletes
  • A strong understanding of sport-specific technique and skills
  • High ethical standards
  • strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
  • an entrepreneurial spirit, specifically one who is willing to take a risk to create opportunities;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • ability to build strong relationships across the organization; and
  • a high level of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
