Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager to oversee our manufacturing operations of the Countryside Abattoir facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and continuous improvement methodologies. This role is essential for ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards, and driving process improvements within the plant.

Duties

  • Lead and manage all aspects of plant operations, ensuring production goals are met while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor meat processing and secondary processing using Lean procedures and principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Oversee quality control measures to ensure products meet established specifications and regulatory requirements in accordance with Service NL and NL Agriculture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance productivity.
  • Maintain mechanical knowledge of equipment and machinery to troubleshoot issues promptly and minimize downtime.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices in developing processes, safety protocols, and operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a plant management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management principles and systems.
  • Excellent mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery and equipment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams towards achieving operational goals.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of plant operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
