YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Administration, the responsibilities of the Director of Operations are to provide leadership for all functions of the municipal operations and infrastructure division.

As Director of Operations, you will work with the leadership team to shape and implement strategic and operational leadership. You will be responsible for optimizing the operations function to meet the needs of the organization. You will support the organization as it evolves, and you will contribute to the planning, management and implementation of projects while ensuring the engineering and operation of operations and infrastructure.

Vous parlez couramment les deux langues officielles avec de l'expérience à titre de dirigeants. Idéalement vous possédez de l'expérience provenant du secteur privé ou provenant du secteur public/municipal. Vous êtes un professionnel accrédité au Canada, possédez un diplôme postsecondaire ainsi qu'une expérience pertinente en génie civil/municipal et en gestion du personnel.

Vous avez la réputation bien méritée de trouver des solutions à des problèmes parfois complexes. Vous avez une expérience de travail dans un environnement syndiqué et votre expérience vous permet de gérer efficacement et en toute confiance. Vous avez la capacité de communiquer des informations de manière claire et concise, de présenter en toute confiance des rapports et de faire des recommandations basées sur une analyse approfondie et une évaluation fiable des risques. Vous êtes efficace et possédez la capacité de travailler à la fois au niveau stratégique et pratique et savez reconnaitre les occasions d'amélioration. Analytique et soucieux des détails, vous êtes un planificateur ainsi qu'un champion de la santé et sécurité au travail.

Vous êtes un conseiller et un preneur de décision respecté et de confiance. Votre style de leadership est inclusif, et vous inspirez vos équipes à atteindre de nouveaux sommets de pensée créative, de dévouement et d'amélioration continue. Vous êtes doté d'une solide connaissance technique de toute l'étendue des fonctions que nécessite le génie municipal.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

As a future member of the management team, you are a natural collaborator with strong technical skills in municipal engineering as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You are fluent in both official languages, with experience as an executive. Ideally, you have experience from the private sector or the public / municipal sector. You are an accredited professional in Canada, have a post-secondary degree as well as relevant experience in civil / municipal engineering and personnel management.

You have a well-deserved reputation for finding solutions to sometimes complex problems. You have experience working in a unionized environment and your experience allows you to manage effectively and with confidence. You have the ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner, confidently present reports and make recommendations based on in-depth analysis and reliable risk assessment. You are efficient and have the ability to work both strategically and practically and recognize opportunities for improvement. Analytical and detail-oriented, you are a planner and a champion of occupational health and safety.

You are a respected and trusted advisor and decision maker. Your leadership style is inclusive, and you inspire your teams to reach new heights of creative thinking, dedication and continuous improvement. You have a solid technical knowledge of the full range of functions required by municipal engineering.
