Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher to join our dynamic team in a busy restaurant environment. As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced setting, possess excellent organizational skills, and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.

This is a part time position for the month of December, with the possibility of extending into January.

Responsibilities:

  • Dishwashing and Sanitation:
  • Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchenware.
  • Ensure that all items are washed and stored according to health and safety standards.
  • Regularly empty and clean trash bins to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area.
  • Kitchen Support:
  • Assist kitchen staff in basic food preparation tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Adhere to proper food handling and safety guidelines to prevent contamination.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to manage the flow of dirty and clean dishes.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety Standards:
  • Follow all sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Time Management:
  • Prioritize and manage tasks effectively to keep up with the demands of a high-volume restaurant.
  • Be adaptable to changing priorities and be able to work under pressure during peak hours.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling and safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.

Schedule:

The shifts start at 5pm and can go as late as 2am.
