About the Role
This is a senior, customer‑facing technical sales position for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering expertise and commercial strategy. Taking over a territory with established, long-term accounts, you will represent a leading portfolio of industrial instrumentation and valve automation solutions. At Trans-West, we don't just sell parts; we solve process problems. If you can walk into a mine site or a water treatment plant, understand the flow, and identify exactly where instrumentation can improve reliability and safety, you are the person we're looking for.
What You'll Do
- Account Stewardship: Manage and grow a portfolio of established accounts across Manitoba, ensuring Trans-West remains their first call for technical solutions.
- Technical Consultation: Conduct onsite consultations and product demonstrations, specifically focusing on challenges within Mining and Water/Wastewater sectors.
- Strategic Growth: Identify "white space" opportunities within existing accounts and develop strategies to introduce new instrumentation and valve automation technologies.
- Relationship Building: Act as a trusted advisor to engineering firms, plant operators, and maintenance teams.
- Regional Presence: Travel within the region to maintain a high-touch presence at plant sites and customer offices (Regional travel is a requirement of the role).
- Collaboration: Work closely with our Thunder Bay-based service center and valve automation specialists to provide turnkey solutions.
- Full Cycle Management: Oversee quoting, technical specification, and after-sales support via our CRM.
What You Bring
- Experience: 5–10+ years in technical sales, instrumentation, or process control.
- Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of Mining processes and Water/Wastewater infrastructure is considered a significant asset.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to interpret P&IDs and technical specifications; experience with flow, level, pressure, and analytical instrumentation.
- Regional Familiarity: Knowledge of the industrial landscape in Winnipeg and the surrounding region.
- Education: Engineering degree, CET, or a relevant technical diploma (Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical).
- Independence: Self-driven and comfortable managing a large territory with autonomy.
