Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Meat Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing and handling various meat products, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met, and assisting customers with their selections. Your role is vital in maintaining the quality and presentation of our meat department while delivering an outstanding shopping experience.

Duties

  • Prepare and package meat products according to company standards.
  • Assist customers in selecting meat products, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Operate the POS system, including Micros POS, for processing transactions accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department, adhering to sanitation guidelines.
  • Ensure all food handling practices comply with food safety regulations.
  • Perform cashiering duties, including cash handling and basic math calculations for transactions.
  • Upsell products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the department.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in restocking as needed.

Experience

  • Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food service operations and restaurant experience is beneficial.
  • Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards is essential.
