Our product teams are cross-functional and durable, typically comprised of a product manager, product designer, and engineers. We staff our teams with the skills necessary to deliver solutions that are valuable, viable, usable, and feasible.
The Product Manager is responsible for ensuring the solution is both valuable and viable. This requires a deep understanding of our users and customers, as well as the constraints of our business—including marketing, sales, service, finance, legal, and privacy.
This role will be instrumental in executing the existing roadmap and contributing to future strategic planning. The Product Manager will lead the full product lifecycle, from discovery and definition to delivery and end-of-life, collaborating closely with design and engineering to deliver high-quality solutions.
Major Responsibilities (How Will I Make an Impact?):
- Exercise curiosity and empathy to build products that our customers love.
- Lead discovery sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Define a compelling vision for your products and features that aligns with the future of learning.
- Create strategies that identify market opportunities, grow the product portfolio, and drive go-to-market execution.
- Develop and maintain a data-driven product roadmap.
- Translate product vision into clear, actionable product requirements.
- Lead agile product development from ideation to launch and beyond.
- Conduct feasibility analysis, business case development, and build/buy/partner evaluations.
- Represent D2L thought leadership at industry events.
- Mentor other product managers and contribute to hiring and performance management.
- Continuously improve product management practices at D2L
Competencies (What you'll bring to the role):
- Create strategy and vision of limited scope, aligned to broader organizational goals.
- Drive and measure outcomes and adoption goals using data.
- Participate in product discovery and validation activities.
- Collaborate with development and design teams to plan, prioritize, and deliver features.
- Triage and resolve defects effectively
Skills
- Clear and concise writing for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Leadership in making data-driven decisions.
- Effective cross-team communication and collaboration.
- Experience using or managing a design system (as a UX professional or product manager).
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG).
- Flexibility to work with global teams, including availability for collaboration with teams in India.
- Preference for candidates located in or able to work in Eastern Time Zone hours.
Suggested Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in a fast-paced technical environment as a Product Manager or UX lead.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of experience in Learning Management Systems or related EdTech systems preferred.
