About the Opportunity
The Manager, Provincial Knowledge Translation, Mental Health supports the development, delivery, and reporting of mental health and wellness initiatives and programs for Métis communities in BC through the management of knowledge gathering, dissemination and translation initiatives.
The Manager fosters a culture of cooperative effort and collaborative problem-solving aimed at enhancing the mental health and wellness of Métis individuals. They oversee the gathering, translation, and dissemination all mental health and harm reduction programs, crafting and executing comprehensive project knowledge gathering plans for these initiatives.
Additionally, they create a safe space for Métis individuals to engage in Métis-led conversations regarding mental health and wellness, while also contributing to the development of a Métis Mental Wellness and Harm Reduction framework. The Manager forges partnerships and facilitates systemic change across a diverse cross-cultural landscape, including within MNBC, alongside Canadian and BC governments, other Métis Governing Members, health authorities, and partner organizations. Furthermore, the Manager supports the implementation of contact-based education programs and engagement efforts focused on harm reduction and mental wellness for Métis individuals.
The role includes adapting existing resources to be culturally sensitive and suitable for the Métis community, necessitating occasional travel to engage Métis Chartered Communities and attend stakeholder meetings. Additionally, the position entails the planning and coordination of meetings and events, as well as the preparation of briefing notes, summaries, evidence reports, and presentations.
