Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Junior Shovel Planner position located in Calgary, AB. The Junior Shovel Planner will be responsible for creating, managing, and updating shovel plans to ensure efficient and accurate mining operations. Duties will include analyzing production and operational needs, coordinating with teams to optimize resources, tracking and reporting progress, and contributing to project planning activities. This role requires a focus on detail-oriented planning and data-driven decision-making while collaborating with various departments to meet project goals.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in creating and managing work plans, and analyzing operational requirements
  • Knowledge of scheduling tools, resource allocation, and project planning methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills for operational analysis
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with mining operations and equipment logistics; prior experience in the mining or resource extraction industry is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Planning, or a related field
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as project planning software and data analysis platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to safety standards and adherence to environmental regulations
