Role

The senior consultant role at Big Bang is the expert combination of functional and technical expertise. As a Senior Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work in a multi-product environment that is industry focused and team-oriented. You will adapt existing ERP and CRM cloud solutions to customers' business processes by developing complex customizations in various programming languages (Java, JavaScript) or configuring already existing elements. You'll participate in database and systems integration between ERP, CRM, transactional websites, and various other third-party platforms. You will also lead client training sessions and collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders by phone, video conference or in person, as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Operations (60%)

  • Actively participate in projects by acting as a lead consultant
  • Analyze business processes and determine the appropriate modifications to be applied to the business solution
  • Complete the development of specifications and formal time estimates and solutions
  • Perform configuration, development, and deployment of software component modifications
  • Communicate regularly with the project manager on the status of the overall work in progress
  • Manage and prioritize time required to complete tasks
  • Ensure that through quality assurance activities are carried out by elaborating and performing test plans
  • Provide mentorship and coach consultants and interns
  • Take ownership and lead the project's lifecycle: sales, demo, project development, and post-go-live, etc.

Customer Service (15%)

  • Manage the client relationship by being  a trusted advisor and leveraging your industry expertise to recommend and help customers optimize their processes and systems
  • Be proactive in the way you communicate both internally and externally; set expectations and confirm decisions by  speaking to your customers directly at all times
  • Propose solutions according to customer's budget and time constraints
  • Effectively resolve issues by providing further investigation in the case of complex issues
  • Assist consultants with front-line support for customers as needed
  • Ensure extraordinary customer service in line with our best practices and willing to go the extra mile
  • Respond to customer calls and provide immediate assistance for urgent requests

Training (10%)

  • Lead and develop customer training sessions (according to specifications and roles) throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide post-deployment training; explaining the use of applications that have been customized and training customers on how to use advanced features
  • Transfer newly acquired functional and technical knowledge to colleagues; mentoring, shadowing, and documenting this knowledge

Sales (10%)

  • Configure complex demonstration/test environments used to present our solutions to potential customers
  • Prepare presentations for prospective clients on specific solutions or areas of expertise
  • Develop specific functionalities based on the requirements of the prospective client and modify data in line with industry standards
  • Participate in discussion forums according to respecting internal guidelines and industry trade shows

Continuous Improvement (5%)

  • Participate in the elaboration of business apps, tools, and extensions designed for resale
  • Perform ongoing industry and market watch through readings, interviews and research analysis
  • Document and share relevant findings

Specific Requirements

  • University degree in software engineering, information technology, business technology management or a relevant discipline
  • Excellent mastery of English and French (bilingual)
  • Mastery of Java (asset)  and Javascript (essential).
  • Mastery of business process concepts (essential)
  • Experience and involvement in all phases of a project: analysis, design, development, implementation, training, and support
  • Knowledge of an ERP application (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and e-commerce (asset)
  • Mastery of cloud business solutions and business processes
  • Ability and willingness to work on more complex and challenging tasks; dealing with more advanced client situations
  • Ability to manage and positively resolve conflicts with a solutions-oriented approach

  • Ability to prepare professional documents: estimates, statement of work, request for proposal, training documents, and testing plans
  • Energetic self-starter and  team player
  • Rigour and follow-through work ethic; you're proactive and you get to the bottom of things

We have a hybrid telecommuting policy that allows you to come into the office at least two days a week after your first month of on-site integration.
