With our expanding fleet and multiple projects underway, we are currently seeking an experienced Class 1 Lowbed Driver to join our team. This position will primarily involve hauling heavy equipment and materials to and from project sites using lowbed and flat-deck trailers. The successful candidate may also operate other Class 1 vehicles as required for company needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate lowbed, tractor-trailer, and tandem trucks for transporting heavy equipment, materials, and supplies between job sites.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment; complete inspection reports.
  • Load, secure, and unload equipment in compliance with load securement regulations and company procedures.
  • Haul equipment across a variety of conditions and terrains, including steep grades, gravel, and rural routes common to the BC Interior.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, site supervisors, and equipment operators to coordinate deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, hours of service, fuel use, and mileage.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Perform minor equipment checks, cleaning, and servicing as required.
  • Follow all company safety policies, traffic laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support general construction operations when not driving, as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Class 1 driving experience in a civil construction or heavy haul environment.
  • Proven experience operating lowbed trailers; side dump and flat-deck experience considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement and clean driver's abstract.
  • Strong knowledge of BC highway and worksite traffic regulations.
  • Ability to drive safely in challenging terrain, tight work areas, and variable weather conditions.
  • Competent in safe load securement, chaining, and equipment tie-downs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing tasks that require lifting, climbing, and securing loads.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and travel to multiple project sites throughout the Okanagan and Interior region.
  • Safety certifications such as First Aid, CSTS, or Ground Disturbance considered an asset.
