Position Overview

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by proactively identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities, while maintaining strong, long-term relationships with existing customers. This position requires a results-driven professional who thrives in face-to-face client interactions, understands the nuances of the cabinet door and cabinetry industry, and can effectively promote products that meet client needs.

The role involves significant travel within assigned territories to meet customers, showcase products, close deals, and ensure a high level of satisfaction. Success in this role is measured by sales growth, market share expansion, and customer retention.

Duties and Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Conduct regular face-to-face visits with existing customers to strengthen relationships and encourage repeat business.
  • Proactively identify and approach prospective clients through cold calls, site visits, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through consistent lead generation and qualification.
  • Provide tailored product recommendations and solutions that align with client requirements and budgets.

Sales Execution & Negotiation

  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations and product demonstrations for decision-makers.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to secure profitable sales agreements.
  • Follow up on proposals and quotations to convert leads into confirmed orders.
  • Upsell and cross-sell complementary products and services to increase account value.

Territory & Account Management

  • Manage assigned territory to maximize coverage and market penetration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer contacts, and opportunities in CRM software.
  • Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to identify new market opportunities.

Product Knowledge & Representation

  • Stay informed about the full range of cabinet door products, finishes, and customization options offered by the company.
  • Provide on-site product training and demonstrations to clients, installers, and distributors.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing the company's values and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Assist with providing samples upon request, labelling them and explaining differences to educate clients.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with internal teams (production, marketing, and customer service) to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Participate in sales meetings, territory reviews, and planning sessions.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.

Leadership and Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in strategic planning for facility upgrades, expansions, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of proven sales experience, preferably in field sales, account management, or B2B environments.
  • Industry knowledge in cabinetry, woodworking, building materials, or related home improvement sectors is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with a professional and consultative approach.
  • Ability to complete and provide reports on activity and project status.
  • Ability to manage and sustain relationships with existing clients while cultivating relationships with new clients
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to work independently while achieving performance targets.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, MS Office Suite, and mobile sales tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical product specifications and drawings is an asset

Job Type:

  • Full Time (40 Hours per week)

Compensation

  • Commission only with $60,000/year guaranteed
