Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Police Officer, located in Wikwemikong, Ontario. The Police Officer will be responsible for enforcing laws, conducting patrols, ensuring public safety, and engaging with the community to build trust and address its needs. Responsibilities also include investigating criminal activities, gathering evidence, maintaining detailed reports, and collaborating with local stakeholders to promote security and justice. A strong commitment to upholding justice and the values of the community is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Law Enforcement and Police procedures
  • Skills in Criminal Investigations and Evidence collection
  • Proficiency in community engagement and serving diverse populations
  • Strong ethical standards, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to upholding restorative justice principles and cultural understanding of First Nations communities
  • Successful completion of police foundations or equivalent education is preferred
  • Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet physical fitness standards
