We are looking for a Social Media Assistant focused on the Chinese market, based in Toronto. This role is ideal for someone who understands Chinese social media, is familiar with education-related content marketing, and is comfortable working in both Chinese and English environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation & Publishing:

Independently edit and produce videos and written content for Xiaohongshu (RED Note), WeChat Video Channels, and WeChat Official Accounts.

  • On-site Content Capture: Assist with event coverage, regularly film and photograph daily school life scenes —including classes, breaks, sports, and extracurricular activities.
  • Competitor Research:

Monitor and analyze competitors' media content and marketing materials to stay ahead of market trends.

  • Social Media Localization:

Follow the school's English social media platforms, translate or caption selected content into Chinese and assist in sharing with Chinese marketing teams for WeChat Moments distribution (Consistency and frequency are key—high-quality editing is not required.)

  • Livestream Marketing:

Once the social accounts reach certain number of followers, help organize and conduct livestream sessions each month.

Qualifications:

  • Reside in GTA. Able to work on-site in Thornhill, ON.
  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) and proficient in English.
  • Familiar with Chinese social media platforms (Xiaohongshu, WeChat, etc.).
  • Experience in content creation, short-form video editing, and social media management.
  • Interest or experience in the education sector is an asset.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
