We are looking for an Intermediate Electrical Designer/Engineer to work on a full-time basis to take multiple projects from the conceptual stage to the detailed design stage.

Ziyutec Inc. is a multidisciplinary engineering company servicing provinces and territories across Canada. Ziyutec has successfully delivered hundreds of projects since its inception in Ontario in 2012.

We provide our services to the federal government, commercial, residential, and industrial markets in various sectors. Our core purpose is to effectively and precisely use our expertise, relevant experience, and professionalism to deliver high-quality engineering services to our clients.

Job Summary

The Intermediate Electrical Designer/Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager and work collaboratively with other electrical designers and engineers. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of technical design and project management skills. The individual should also be a self-starter with good decision-making skills.

This position will be based at our Toronto Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical engineering feasibility studies for building lighting/power/fire alarm systems under a senior engineer's supervision
  • Prepare project documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and estimates
  • Prepare system layouts, details, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and building schedules
  • Perform load, lighting, voltage drop, and fault calculations
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks assigned by direct supervisor/manager

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in lighting, power, fire alarm, communication, security, A/V, and PA system design
  • Knowledge of the OESC, OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, ULC, NEMA, TIA/EIA, IEEE, etc.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
  • Experience in project management and coordination
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills
  • Experience in instrumentation, controls, and commissioning is an asset
  • Comfortable working individually and in a team
  • Detail-oriented and good work ethic
  • EIT or P. Eng. registration in ON is preferred
