Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to various surfaces in residential, commercial and industrial settings. The Painter will work closely with project managers and clients to ensure high-quality results that meet specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Interior painting – apply coats of paint to different kinds of surfaces – drywall, wood, concrete and metal;
- Prepare surface before painting – removing old paint, sanding, caulking, filling and repairing holes and cracks;
- Protect surfaces and furniture before painting – paper masking, spreading drop cloths, plastic sheets;
- Use spray gun – setting up the gun, spraying and preparing surfaces before spraying;
- Hang wallpaper – scrape and remove old product from the wall, measure, cut and apply wallpaper using special glue and equipment;
- Order paint supplies;
- Assemble and erect scaffolding; and
- Follow safety procedures.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting environments
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing customer service when interacting with clients
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials, working at heights, and standing for extended periods
