This employment opportunity is restricted to residents of Rankin Inlet only.
Reporting to the Director Human Resources of Health, The Regional Manager Human Resources is directly accountable for providing human resources support for all Health staff in the region. The incumbent will provide generalist human resource support for the region, primarily, on issues in areas such as advice management, staffing and recruitment processes, labour relations and health and safety.
The incumbent provides an essential service by relocating, orienting and supporting the regional complement of nurses. The position also provides human resource support through the timely submission of employment documentation, resolving HR issues, providing advice to employees and management regarding applications of the collective agreement and various related processes and directives. This must be accomplished while satisfying the region's need for quality staff to deliver high profile programs and services to the public. In addition, the role also acts as a subject matter expert on staffing/recruitment processes, labour relations, health and safety – escalating to the Director of HR or the Department of Human Resources as required.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in human resources, social science, business administration or related field, plus three (3) years of experience including at least one year supervisory.
This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
