Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (subcontractor) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care to seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and delivering high-quality care in various settings.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Assist with some meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and companionship.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support to clients and their families during challenging times, including hospice care situations.
- Represent and uphold high standards of care, professionalism, and compassion
Skills
- Current PSW Certification is REQUIRED.
- Vulnerable Sector Check (completed within the last 6 months), or willing to obtain prior to start date.
- CPR and First Aid certification is considered an asset
- Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care practices is essential.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong caregiving skills including cleaning, meal preparation, and case management abilities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.

This position is offered as a subcontractor role, not a direct employment opportunity. As a subcontractor, you will be responsible for managing your own taxes, insurance, and any applicable business licenses. This role provides flexibility and independence, but does not include employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement plans.
We are seeking candidates who are comfortable working independently, delivering high-quality results, and maintaining professional accountability under a contract-based agreement.
