The Building Caretaker position is a mix of Caretaking and Building Management responsibilities.

Your Job Scope:

Cleaning & Sanitation: Clean floors, windows, mirrors, vents, baseboards, and furniture; sanitize high-touch areas (sinks, toilets, showers, mail areas, fitness equipment); spot-clean walls; remove litter and waste; replace garbage liners.

Area Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of lobby, multipurpose room, gym, lounge, dog wash, children's play area, washrooms, guest suites, outdoor patio, and BBQ area.

Seasonal Décor: Set up/remove seasonal decorations; transport items from storage; clean up after setup.

Enforce bylaws: assist trades and inspections; maintain equipment inventory; inspect lighting, gates, and common areas; perform minor repairs and replace light bulbs (up to 10 ft).

Manage supplies and bookings: post/remove notices; log daily events; report issues; communicate with residents and property manager; maintain records.

Monitor building conditions and review security camera footage.

Test chemical levels; clean and maintain water features; complete logs; manage poolside setup and supply ordering.

Knowledge and skills:

Cleaning & Maintenance: Proficient in cleaning techniques, chemical handling (WHMIS), minor repairs, and basic building systems.

Facility Operations: Knowledge of pool/hot tub care, lighting, plumbing, and safety protocols.

Administration: Skilled in record-keeping, inventory management, and booking coordination; basic computer and communication skills.

Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, reliable, organized, professional, and able to work independently or in a team.

Physical Ability:

  • Able to lift 30 to 50 lbs., bend and reach to high/ low places as needed.
  • Capable to push heavy waste bins.
