Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our team. This role involves safely operating various types of forklifts and equipment to facilitate efficient warehouse distribution processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, order picking, and mechanical knowledge to support smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Safely operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to move, load, and unload goods within the warehouse
  • Move materials within a facility by hand or using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of forklifts and other equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency
  • Keep an accurate inventory by counting, sorting, stocking, and cataloging materials. This includes recording inventory statuses and communicating shortages.
  • Assist with heavy lifting tasks, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury
  • Support warehouse organization by stacking, storing, and retrieving products as needed
  • Follow safety protocols at all times, including adhering to OSHA standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and maintain a clean, organized workspace

Qualifications

  • Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers
  • Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and basic maintenance
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and measurements
  • Strong physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking in a warehouse setting
  • Prior experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is preferred
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures related to forklift operation and warehouse work
  • Valid forklift certification/license is highly desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
