Education Assistants Wanted in Calgary

Calgary AB TN H, Canada Learning Potential Foundation Full time

Learning Potential Foundation is looking for Education Assistants to join our team for the school year. We partner with preschools, daycares, and dayhomes, working with children aged 2-5 years with varying levels of delays/needs.

Current EA Position opportunities in CALGARY:

1) PT Mon-Fri in CALGARY; 8am-12noon; located in a daycare at 19 Street NW, Calgary

2) FT Mon-Fri in CALGARY; for Dec this would be PT from 8:30-12 8:30am in a daycare at 19 Street NW, Calgary & the FT from Jan-June from 8:30am-4:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch) in a daycare at 350 Aspen Glen Landing SW, Calgary. Experience with behaviours an asset.

3) FT Mon-Fri in CALGARY; 8:30am-4:30pm (30 min unpaid lunch); this is located in a daycare at Symons Valley Rd NW

4) Mon-Fri in CALGARY; Mon-Thurs 8:45am-2:45pm (30 min unpaid lunch) & Fri from 8:45-11:45am; this is located in a dayhome in Tuscany. Experience with dayhomes or in-home support an asset.

Qualifications include:

-Experience with children with delays and/or special needs an asset

-Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search (dated within the last 6 months)

  • Education Assistant certification an asset

Abilities Required include:

-Proficiency in English (written and oral)

-Ability to work as a team and independently

-Good organizational skills, time management skills, and pacing skills

-Flexibility within a group setting of students with various needs

-Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviours of students

-Reliable & Dependable (including consistent attendance)

-Success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

-Enthusiasm, commitment, willingness to learn, and desire to make a difference

-Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent our ECS in a professional manner

Compensation/Position includes:

-Our starting wage is $22/hr.

-Benefits after 3 months if employed for 18+ hrs per week

-Contract runs for the school year (with option to renew based on performance and agreement by both parties)

**Please note that this is a position in Education and NOT Childcare. The posted pay is the hourly rate and there is no additional childcare sector wage top-up. Thank you
