We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Retail Allocator to support the strategic distribution of merchandise across our retail network. This role is integral to maximizing sales, improving inventory productivity, and ensuring that each store receives the right product mix at the right time. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

1) Pre-Season & In-Season Allocation:

  • Review inventory plans and merchandise assortments to determine optimal store-level allocations.
  • Assess store performance, selling history, capacity, and regional trends to support strategic product placement.
  • Collaborate with planning and merchandising teams to align allocations with sales forecasts, assortment strategies, and seasonal priorities.

2) Inter-Store Transfers (ISTs):

  • Identify opportunities to rebalance inventory through ISTs to support demand fluctuations and maximize sell-through.
  • Relocate slow-selling, overstocked, or off-season merchandise to more suitable stores.
  • Continuously monitor inventory levels to maintain healthy stock flow throughout the chain.

3) Reporting & Analysis:

  • Generate and interpret weekly reports on sales, inventory, and store performance.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve product distribution and drive results.
  • Track and evaluate the impact of allocation decisions to support ongoing improvements.

4) Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with store operations, visual, planning, and merchandising teams to ensure allocations support store layouts and seasonal initiatives.
  • Maintain strong communication with store teams to gather feedback and respond to inventory needs.
  • Participate in seasonal planning meetings, recaps, and cross-functional discussions as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in retail allocation, planning, or inventory management (fashion/apparel preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
