Seasonal Employment – Public Works Summer Labourer(s)

The Town of Wasaga Beach is now accepting resumes for Summer Public Works Labourer(s). This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to keeping our community clean and beautiful. Position Overview: As a Summer Labourer with Public Works, you will play a key role in:Collecting roadside and beachfront litterEmptying garbage and recycling binsInspecting storm catch basins, outlets, ponds, and trail systemsAssisting with tree and brush clean-upPainting fire hydrants, sewer stacks, sign posts, and building structuresSupporting beachfront clean-up and municipal road maintenancePerforming other Public Works-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:Preference given to students enrolled full-time in secondary or post-secondary programs for the next academic yearStrong public relations and communication skillsAbility to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidaysPhysically capable of performing manual labour, including heavy lifting and working in all weather conditionsExperience in road maintenance and use of hand tools is an assetStrong knowledge of the Town of Wasaga Beach is an assetValid First Aid and CPR certification preferredValid Class "G" Ontario driver's license preferredAbility to work independently and as part of a team with initiative and a great attitude Ability to provide a satisfactory criminal record check and driver's abstract upon hire
