Job Overview

Plexcon Construction Inc. is seeking a Construction Operations / Project Control Manager to support ownership and ensure residential construction projects are executed on schedule, milestones are verified, and teams are operating efficiently using modern construction systems and technology.

This role focuses on operations oversight, schedule control, milestone verification, and system enforcement across multiple projects.

This is not a site superintendent role and not an administrative assistant position.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Project Control

  • Monitor schedules and milestones across multiple active construction projects
  • Track progress and identify risks or delays early
  • Conduct regular operational check-ins and follow-ups
  • Ensure commitments and timelines are being met

Construction Technology & Systems

  • Use construction management software (e.g. Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) to track schedules, documentation, and progress
  • Ensure project teams are maintaining accurate and timely updates in project management systems
  • Support continuous improvement of workflows through technology and systems

Milestone Verification & Payments

  • Verify completion of defined construction milestones using photos, checklists, and documentation
  • Confirm work aligns with approved scope prior to payment authorization
  • Coordinate with accounting/admin teams to release payments once milestones are verified

Project Team Oversight

  • Support and coordinate with site superintendents and project managers
  • Ensure issues are escalated with context and recommended solutions
  • Maintain clear communication across operations teams

Ownership Support

  • Prepare concise project status updates and summaries
  • Escalate significant risks, delays, or budget variances as required
  • Help reduce day-to-day operational involvement required from ownership

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 3–7+ years of experience in construction operations, project coordination, project controls, general contracting, or related roles

  • Experience with residential construction projects preferred

  • Familiarity with construction schedules, milestones, trades, and change management

Technology & Systems

  • Experience using construction management software such as Procore, Buildertrend, CoConstruct, or similar platforms

  • Comfortable working with digital schedules, documentation, and reporting tools

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and standard office software

Skills

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Clear written and verbal communication

  • Ability to identify issues and propose practical solutions

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related education

  • PMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification

  • Experience supporting operational systems implementation
