We are located in an up-and-coming area of Pickering, our plaza offers many interesting vendors, including banks, restaurants, a dollar store, Planet Fitness, and a Montessori Daycare. About the Role
Our ideal Client Care Specialist/Receptionist builds positive client Our ideal Client Care Reception / Veterinary Assistant builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. This involves greeting and checking-in clients in a friendly and warm manner; receiving incoming calls from current and prospective clients utilizing a courteous and caring approach. This person will appropriately screen calls, book appointments, take detailed messages as well as provide knowledgeable non-medical information to clients. Responsibilities also include performing a variety of administrative office tasks, including mail (receiving, sorting, distributing, posting), drafting memos and other correspondence, completing reports and other ad-hoc document requests.
Our ideal candidate will also take on some veterinary assistant tasks that include. Counselling and educating clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure. Experience with Avimark is a an asset. Any experience in Veterinary Assistant or Customer Care Specialist is an asset. This is a to cover someone on leave (replacement position)
