The Command Center Analyst operates and maintains a highly technical CCTV system to protect assets of CarMax locations across the country and is responsible for communicating with local law enforcement and store staff to ensure successful resolution of incidents. The individual supports store personnel in resolution of CCTV-related issues and work closely with other team members on a rotating shift bases. The Command Center operates overnight, and this position requires overnight shift work. The hours could be 9pm-7am and/or 11pm-9am Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
Monitor Command Center technology to safeguard the assets of CarMax locations across the country.
Respond to a high volume and constant flow of system alerts from various technologies, including video analytics. Quickly assess whether the activity is potentially criminal and make decisions on how to address the activity, including voice down announcements and/or contacting law enforcement to respond.
Conduct follow-up with law enforcement and management to successfully resolve all outstanding issues related to incidents.
Prepare written reports of all incidents to sufficiently document the activity within the company's case management system.
Respond to burglar alarm system activity as reported by third party alarm company. Review CCTV to determine whether activity is criminal activity or system false alarms.
Respond to calls from store managers seeking assistance, including review of live activity, assisting with CCTV and obtaining third-party security guard coverage if appropriate.
Complete daily audits which include ensuring video and other technology is properly functioning.
Maintain security related equipment and communicate issues in need of resolution.
Provide support to internal business partners and vendors to ensure proper resolution of issues related to security equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Purpose of the Role
Consistent with our company value to Put People First, the Command Center Analyst's primary responsibility is to monitor the security systems to protect company associates and property and to detect criminal activity. The Command Center Analyst follow departmental procedures to ensure that the security platforms are functional and are maintained properly. The analyst will be vigilant and exercise sound judgement in responding to system alerts and incidents. This is often in collaboration with other Analysts to accomplish the overall goal. The Command Center Analyst is a resource for other company associates seeking guidance for security and safety issues during an incident.
Qualifications and Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
College degree preferred, but not required.
Two years in Loss Prevention/Security-related field or computer related field, preferred.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal guidance.
High ethical standards.
Required to work Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday overnight shifts.
Work Location: This is an onsite role based out of Richmond, VA at our WestCreek location.
