Payroll, Accounts Receivable and Journal Entry Specialist

Job Summary
This dual role combines payroll administration, accounts receivable and other accounting duties as required. This role is responsible for processing payroll, accounts receivable and doing journal entries accurately and on time.
Duties
Payroll Administration:
· Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees accurately and on time.
· Work collaboratively and support managers in their learning and compliance with expectations
· Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
· Verify timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies.
· Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits contributions.
· Ensure compliance with tax laws and labor regulations.
· Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and reports.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.
· Generate payroll reports for management and audits.
Accounts Receivable:
· Prepare funder invoices promptly and accurately
· Enter information and upload invoices into the funder portals or issue them as required.
· Monitor accounts receivable dates and follow up on overdue accounts.
· Record and reconcile incoming payments in accounting system.
· Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment arrangements.
· Maintain accurate records of all transactions and collections efforts.
· Assist with month-end closing and reporting related to receivables.
· Collaborate with Finance team to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Accounting Data Entry and Journal Entries:
· Enter financial transactions into the accounting system accurately and timely.
· Prepare and post journal entries for payroll, receivables, and other general ledger accounts.
· Assist with account reconciliations and ensure proper coding of transactions.
· Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Maintain compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
Other duties as required
Education & Experience
Diploma in payroll, accounting, and/or finance
Preferred: · Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)
Asset: Experience with Inclusion Pay Roll System, Quick Books
· Minimum of 2 years' experience of payroll processing experience
· Additional 1 year of general accounting duties
Skills:
· Exceptional ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and diverse skill levels
· Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and tax compliance
· Proficiency in payroll and accounting software
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to build supportive relationships with staff and approach errors in a collaborative manner.
· Ability to work independently and utilize remote tools to work with a team across multiple regions.
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
