District Kitchen + Bar is looking for great people to join our team This is a great opportunity for an experienced line cook.

Job Description

We understand that back of house employees are the pillars of our operations. We look to our sous chefs to take on a position of seniority and leadership amongst their employees, leading by example and being an ambassador of how we do things. A line cook must possess a strong knowledge of our menu and recipes.

The Scope of the Role and Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Promotes Guest Satisfaction by ensuring all food is executed to standard
  • Maintaining a spotlessly clean kitchen and back of house
  • Adhering to all food handling and health & safety procedures
  • Operate from Yes, and execute tasks as delegated by Kitchen Managers
  • Contributing to an atmosphere of hard work, discipline, respectful communication, cooperation and positivity amongst all staff
  • Ordering, hiring and weekly inventory

Skills / Experience

  • Demonstrates a high level of self-discipline in work habits and work quality
  • Strong knife skills
  • Good knowledge of cooking techniques and food equipment operation
  • Ability to work as a team and independently
  • Time management and ability to multitask
  • Thorough understanding of safe food handling
  • Minimum of three years prior experience in a line cook role
  • Positive attitude and respectful demeanour
