This position has an end date of April 30, 2026. Salary will be commensurate with experience in accordance with Schedule D of the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton and clinical sites in Edmonton area
The Faculty of Nursing is seeking qualified individuals to serve as Clinical Lecturers (Academic Teaching Staff) in support of clinical instruction for students enrolled in the undergraduate nursing programs. These roles offer a meaningful opportunity to mentor the next generation of nurses in diverse and dynamic clinical settings.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Teaching or instructional experience in academic or clinical environments
- Leadership potential and a strong interest in nursing education
- Current clinical competency in medical/surgical, mental health, maternal/child health and/or community health practice areas
- Bilingual proficiency and/or lived experience in Canadian Indigenous communities (preferred)
These term appointments are associated with specific clinical courses and vary in assigned hours, FTE, and shift schedules depending on instructional needs. Rank (Assistant Clinical Lecturer, Associate Clinical Lecturer, or Clinical Lecturer) will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Clinical Lecturers in the Faculty of Nursing:
- Teach assigned clinical sections and deliver course content aligned with curriculum requirements
- Support student learning and progression through inclusive, learner-centred strategies
- Participate in course planning, evaluation, and instructional team collaboration
- Provide formative and summative feedback to students, and connect them to supports
- Attend teaching team meetings, co-develop assessment tools, and contribute to quality improvement
- Engage in mentorship (giving and receiving) within the instructional team
Participate in professional development and curriculum renewal efforts
Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required; Master's degree is preferred
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Minimum 3 years of Canadian clinical nursing experience (preferably in acute care or community health)
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching or clinical instruction
- Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, problem-solving, and learner support
- Familiarity with EDI-informed practices in nursing education
