Job Description:
Sky Sight Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer (P.Eng.) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This hands-on role is ideal for an Ontario-licensed engineer with Revit experience who is comfortable supporting structural design, architectural and Part 9 scopes, existing-building work, and client-facing project delivery across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Designated Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) responsible for supervising, reviewing, and sealing all structural engineering work in compliance with the Professional Engineers Act (Ontario)
- Design, draft, and review structural drawings and calculations using Autodesk Revit and CAD
- Prepare architectural drawings, including Part 9 residential projects, where required
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and applicable standards
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction
- Support renovations, additions, restorations, and change-of-use projects
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, and condition or damage assessments
- Participate in forensic, building science, and insurance-related assignments, as required
- Assist with retroactive code interpretation and existing-building assessments
- Contribute to technical and investigative reports
- Meet with clients and represent the firm professionally
- Provide technical guidance to designers and technologists
Requirements
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario, in good standing with PEO
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Structural preferred)
- 5+ years structural engineering experience in Ontario (AEC firm)
- Experience preparing and sealing structural drawings and calculations in Ontario
- Ability to take responsible charge of structural engineering work
- Experience in Autodesk Revit, including modeling and documentation on small and mid-scale projects
- Ability to prepare Revit-based structural deliverables
- Ability to prepare and modify architectural drawings in Revit, particularly for Part 9 scopes
- Strong working knowledge of OBC Parts 4, 3, 9, and 11
- Familiarity with CSA structural design standards (wood, steel, concrete)
- Experience responding to municipal plan review and permit comments
- Experience working with existing buildings, renovations, and alterations
- Experience meeting with clients and clearly communicating technical concepts
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills
- Comfortable working within structured file and project delivery systems, including Microsoft 365 and Adobe Acrobat
- Valid Ontario G-class driver's license and experience conducting site visits
Assets
- Exposure to forensic engineering, building science, or insurance-related work
- Experience assisting with condition, damage, or failure assessments
- Familiarity with retroactive code interpretation, change of use, or grandfathering provisions
- Experience with expert or litigation-support documentation
- Experience with Autodesk AEC Collection tools (AutoCAD, ReCap Pro, Navisworks, Civil3D, etc.)
- Experience working with LiDAR, point clouds, or reality-capture models
- Interest in helping expand forensic and existing-building service offerings

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 per year (commensurate with experience), plus bonus
