Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist (H&S Incident Investigation Specialist) - Airport to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. 

Major Requirements:

 The successful candidate will report to the H&S Manager.

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

· Oversees investigations of all recordable incidents and near-misses to identify contributing factors and root causes to prevent a reoccurrence

· Identifies, communicates, and implements lessons learned across the program

· Promotes awareness of safety hazards and due diligence in resolving safety-related risks via communications, resourcefulness, and transparency

· Manages, develops, and promotes the health and safety management system

· Oversees and monitors the implementation of construction safety requirements at the program level

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree plus 8 years of direct on-site safety management experience and health and safety practices or Diploma/certificate + 10 years or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Requirement:

·     Diploma/certificate in health and safety, or equivalent training and experience

·     Minimum 10 years of direct on-site safety management experience and health and safety practices

·     Extensive experience in airport development construction projects

·     Injury management experience

·     Field safety auditing and investigation experience

Analytical and problem-solving skills to examine incidents and problems, detect root causes, and resolve issues
