The Opportunity: The Student Financial Accountant serves as a key customer service representative at Sault College, ensuring that all financial transactions related to students are recorded accurately and efficiently. This role is responsible for the careful collection, verification, analysis, and entry of financial data, ensuring that College records reflect all deposits and receipts with precision.  The position ensures that all payments received are properly recorded in the College's general ledger in accordance with established policies and procedures, while maintaining a complete and auditable trail of all transactions. The Student Financial Accountant is also accountable for the daily reconciliation and depositing of funds.  In addition, this role processes all electronic funds transfers (EFTs), incoming wires, and applies student tuition awards to individual accounts.

 What you need to be successful: 

  • degree/diploma in Accounting, Business Administration or related education
  • minimum three years' related work experience
  • thorough knowledge of working papers and accounts analysis
  • ability to handle large volumes of cash
  • advanced customer service skills
  • strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office suite products, including Word and Excel
  • ability to work independently and within a team setting

This is an Appendix D full-time support staff position, 35 hours/week, Payband F - $ $37.04 (starting rate $
