Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Clinical Program Director, Mental Health & Addictions, the Clinical Educator is an integral member of the Program's leadership team. This educator role will be across all sites. Key to this role is identification of staff learning needs followed by development, implementation, and evaluation of programs. The Program is embarking on a new Program Vision with a client-centred care, patient co-design and partnership focus to provide high quality, comprehensive services across the continuum including transitions of care. The four units at the Mississauga Hospital site include two general adult mental health inpatient units of 29 and 24 beds, a 8-bed Mental Health Intensive Care Unit and a 11-bed Seniors Mental Health Unit, and an Emergency Department Mental Health Zone. The CVH adult Mental Health inpatient unit consists of 26 beds and a 4 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, and an Inpatient and Outpatient Eating Disorder Program, and Emergency Department Mental Health Zone. Outpatient and Community Mental Health services are located at Credit Valley, Mississauga and Queensway sites, and 2085 Hurontario Street, which include clinics across the age span.

Key Qualifications:   

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required with a minimum current enrollment in a Master's degree program or plan to enrol within the year
• Certified CNA Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing is required, or willingness to obtain within the next year
• Minimum five years of clinical experience. Experience working within Mental Health & Addictions within the last 3-5 years is required.
• Experience working within Medical-Surgical units is considered an asset.
• Previous experience in developing and delivering educational programs
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills – both written and verbal
• Understanding of adult education techniques and ability to prepare and teach in both classroom and clinical settings
• Ability to coach, mentor and provide feedback while fostering a positive work culture
• Strong critical thinking, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Evidence of ongoing professional development
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and quality improvement
• Good project management and processes/skills
• Computer skills, i.e. EPIC, PowerPoint, Excel, RAI, EPIC, Canva,
