Role Summary:
The Accounting Manager, under the direction of the Divisional Controller, ensures the completion of full cycle accounting activities as they relate to the National Development Centre (NDC) and the support of Branch Offices.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manage, coach and mentor the Corporate Accounting team (2+ members)
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reporting packages for the corporation, divisions, and branches
- Prepare working papers, journal entries, and accounting reconciliations for complex areas of accounting
- Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of monthly Balance Sheet account analysis and reconciliations
- Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the Vena reporting tool (reconciliation to the source system)
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
- Lead the information gathering for the year-end audit and review processes
- Lead and/or assist with internal project expenditure analysis
- Lead the implementation and enhancement of month-end closing procedures
- Lead the implementation of projects and process improvements in the department
- Provide assistance to branch enquiries concerning their financial results
- Support the transition of acquisitions and expansion in the business
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Adhere to Firm Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Firms personnel

Requirements:
- A university degree in business (or related discipline) from a recognized and accredited educational institution
- Recognized professional designations; CPA ,
- Five years of related accounting experience; a proven track record in balance sheet analysis and spreadsheet usage; strong working knowledge of Excel and Power Point; at least 2 years of experience managing a team; experience working in a fast paced, growth organization
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently, as part of a team and to mentor a team; ability to meet deadlines; strong commitment to continued learning; attention to detail; ability to take leadership role with the team and in special projects as required.
