Overview
We are seeking a Senior Structural Designer to join our Minerals & Metals (M&M NAM) Structural Engineering Department. The successful candidate will report to the Structural Engineering Team Lead and the Structural Lead on the project to which he or she is assigned.

The person in this position will work closely with Structural Engineers in a multi-discipline environment to manage design responsibilities and to resolve design related issues associated with the project.

Your role

  • Produce 3D models in Revit or Advanced Steel or Smartplant 3D. Generate 2D drawings from 3D model.
  • Prepare the 2D drawings using AutoCAD or Microstation.
  • Develop the 2D drawings of structure/foundation plans, sections, elevations as per engineer design sketches. Develop the details as per engineer design.
  • Prepare the material take-off from 3D models and/or drawings.
  • Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts.
  • Other duties as applicable.

About You

  • College certification or BS (preferred but not required) in Civil Engineering specialized on structural engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of design and drafting experience in Structural Engineering.
  • Experience in 2D and 3D designs for concrete foundation, concrete structure, steel structure with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or Smartplant 3D.
  • Excellent communication skills in French, ability to maintain confidential information critical.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboration with other disciplines.
