General Summary
A Skycomp Systems Architect focuses on the remediation and escalation of service tickets and alerts, as well as assisting the project team with the deployment of new equipment. This is necessary to build the technical foundation to grow within Skycomp and provide for a great client experience.
As a Systems Architect at Skycomp, you are responsible for providing exceptional IT support to our clients while maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor. You will work as part of our professional and managed services teams which encompasses all levels of computer expertise. Here you will interact directly with our clients and partner with your peers using your best problem solving methodologies. You will solve issues, document detailed notes, and gain a thorough understanding of the support requirements to meet and exceed our clients' expectations.
Primary Responsibilities
· Communicate effectively while demonstrating interpersonal skills: such as telephony, active listening and customer-care.
· Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with Skycomp's core values
· Submittal of time for all work performed throughout the day. All time must be accounted for.
· Familiarize yourself with all Skycomp tools to effectively perform your job responsibilities. The tools include but are not limited to the following:
- Backup (Storagecraft and VEEAM)
- Anti-Virus / Anti-Malware
- Email and Web Hosting Products
- Security Services
· Employ strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude.
· Participate and engage in company and assigned team meetings.
· Communication with clients as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, and agreed upon outages.
· Travel to and from client sites (With reliable transportation, a valid Driver's license & Automobile Insurance)
· Must be physically able to rack and move equipment
· Support mobile devices including but not limited to Apple, Android, Windows and BlackBerry. This includes mobile device management tools (MDM).
· Install and support network devices such as servers, switches, firewalls and printers.
· Performs Active Directory Administration (e.g., Moves, Adds and Changes).
· Build and support networks running on multiple platforms, including the following technologies:
- Microsoft AD DS, DHCP, DNS, File and Print, GPO, Hyper-V, RDS, Exchange, SQL, O365, IIS
- Linux
- Manage and maintain cloud based services
· Public DNS, Email and Web Hosting solutions provided by Skycomp from multiple vendors
· Server, routing, switching, wireless, firewall and voice solutions provided by Skycomp from multiple vendors
· Layered security – Security Auditing
· Ability to configure and troubleshoot in a multi-vendor environment
· Support workstation, client facing applications, printers and peripheral devices and software
Expected Results
Through proper execution of the above stated job responsibilities, a Systems Analyst will learn the Skycomp way and the tools, providing a platform from which to propel them to greater job roles and technical competencies. The Systems Analyst's escalation provides for continued growth of Skycomp's culture, a better overall client experience, which in turn provides for great client retentions.
Credentials and Experience
· 5+ Years' Experience working in an IT environment
· Experience with Cisco Switching, VLAN Routing, Firewall Support and Deployment
· Experience with Server Hardware Technologies (RAID, Hyper V, VMWare) Support and Deployment
· Experience with Data Backup and Recovery Support, Corporate Antivirus Support, VPN Connectivity Support and Deployment
· Experience with a Remote Monitoring and Management tool
· Experience with scripting (Powershell, VBS, Batch files etc)
· Completion of certifications such as MCITP, MCP, CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, Project+, Network+ is an asset
