Summary
As the
Store Manager
, you'll be the heartbeat of our KITS Coffee & Eyewear store. You'll lead a passionate team, oversee the optical and café operations, and ensure every guest leaves feeling seen, connected, and inspired.
Your role blends leadership, operational excellence, and hospitality - ensuring the KITS brand comes alive through every interaction, product, and detail in the space.
This is an opportunity for a dynamic retail or hospitality leader to grow with a fast-moving brand that's reshaping how people experience vision care and lifestyle retail.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-energy, customer-focused team across eyewear retail, optical services, and café operations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, empowerment, and excellence that reflects the KITS brand values.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard all store employees - ensuring alignment with brand vision and guest experience standards.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and training to drive team performance and growth.
- Partner closely with leads (Optometrist, Café Lead, Assistant Store Manager) to align daily priorities and long-term goals.
- Support individual development plans and build future leaders within the organization.
Operations & Sales Management
- Oversee daily store operations, ensuring seamless coordination between retail, optical, and café functions.
- Maintain exceptional visual merchandising and product presentation standards in alignment with KITS brand guidelines.
- Manage inventory in the store - ensuring accuracy, timely replenishment, and visual representation.
- Implement efficient operational workflows that enhance guest experience and team productivity.
- Align with company marketing initiatives, executing in-store activations, product launches, and promotions.
- Analyze sales performance, set weekly goals, and use insights to optimize operations and drive conversion.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Manage store-level financial performance, including scheduling, payroll, and labor costs.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and KPIs.
- Track and report on key performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Build and maintain vendor relationships - negotiating competitive pricing and ensuring consistent product quality.
- Curate and adapt café offerings based on customer feedback, seasonal trends, and market insights.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial and administrative reports.
Community & Customer Engagement
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that invites guests to connect, explore, and return.
- Actively build relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to position KITS as a neighborhood hub.
- Plan and execute community and in-store events that drive engagement and brand awareness.
- Represent KITS with authenticity and enthusiasm - both inside the store and within the local community.
- Champion a guest-first culture by responding to feedback, resolving issues promptly, and creating memorable experiences.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards, across both retail and café operations.
- Maintain food preparation, beverage, and equipment standards - updating training materials and procedures as needed.
- Manage and execute the store maintenance calendar to ensure a clean, functional, and beautiful environment.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying operational gaps and implementing effective solutions.
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $75,000-105,000. The final aligned upon salary will be dependent on the successful candidate's relevant skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership or management experience in retail, hospitality, or café environments. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of management experience.
- Passion for community engagement and creating exceptional guest experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop teams to achieve high performance and sales goals.
- Strong business acumen with experience in inventory management, reporting, and vendor negotiations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Food Safe certifications is an asset
- Retail hour availability, including weekend availability is required.
