Description As Engineering Manager, you'll quickly see your team's work in use by over 7000+ agencies, across 150,000+ businesses that use our AgencyAnalytics. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, you'll lead a team of 5-7 engineers that own cloud infrastructure, build pipeline, observability stack, and core services.

This role is an opportunity for you to really make a high impact as we enter our next phase of growth. We're not only looking for someone that can drive the stability of our platform but also cares deeply about improving developer experience through delivering simple and efficient tooling and mechanisms for development.

As the Engineering Manager, you will:
  • Your day-to-day will be 70% management, 30% hands-on engineering work.
  • You'll partner closely with Staff engineers and make technical decisions together.
  • You'll set team priorities that respect platform stability while supporting Product development teams.
  • You'll define and track SLOs for platform stability and developer velocity, ensuring the internal 'customer' (our product engineers) can ship code safely and quickly.
  • You'll be accountable for your team's delivery and outcomes.
  • You'll manage engineers through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.
  • You'll work with other engineering leaders to continuously improve and nurture our culture, practices, and employee well-being.
  • You'll facilitate collaboration among key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align on the right goals and support the company mission.
  • You'll help your team achieve technical excellence by taking a hands-on approach.
  • You'll ensure your teams maintain high standards for quality and security.

Our Stack
  • PHP 8.x with Laravel
  • Typescript, React, and Redux
  • GCP Cloud SQL (MySQL), BigQuery, and Redis
  • GCP Kubernetes, Cloud Tasks and PubSub

What You'll Bring:
  • You have held a hands-on Engineering Manager role for at least 2 years, managing infrastructure and platform engineering teams.
  • You have deep experience with GCP (Kubernetes), CI/CD automation, and observability (we use Grafana and Sentry). Familiarity with PHP/Laravel environments is a significant plus.
  • Prior to management, you held a Senior+ role in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Backend Engineering with a heavy focus on infrastructure.
  • You have experience managing in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • You are outcome-oriented and take full accountability for your team's delivery.
  • You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical team members and stakeholders.
  • You are skilled at prioritizing incoming requests and protecting your engineers' focus and commitments.
  • You stay current with technological changes and set a high standard for yourself and your team

Compensation
Our base salary for this role ranges from $ to $ CAD. Compensation is determined by factors such as market salary data within Canada, technical skills, previous work history, and internal pay equity. Many positions also include additional variable compensation, which our Talent Acquisition team will discuss with you during the interview process.

Note: This posting is for an existing vacancy that we are seeking to fill.
