Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chiropodist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized foot and ankle care, focusing on diagnosing and treating a variety of podiatric conditions. This role involves collaborating with patients to develop effective treatment plans, performing examinations, and delivering high-quality patient care in both clinical and home care settings. Prior experience in hospital or outpatient settings, including pediatrics and pain management, is highly valued. The Chiropodist will utilize medical terminology and electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner to document patient interactions accurately.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive foot and ankle examinations, including assessing mobility, gait, and skin conditions
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for various podiatric issues
  • Administer medications and perform minor procedures as needed
  • Educate patients on foot health, injury prevention, and proper footwear
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, especially in acute care or hospital environments
  • Collect relevant data for research or quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage documentation using electronic medical records systems like Epic and Cerner
  • Assist in pain management strategies tailored to individual patient needs
  • Provide patient care in diverse settings including outpatient clinics, hospitals, or home care environments

Skills

  • Proven experience in hospital or outpatient settings with a focus on patient care
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to podiatry and general healthcare
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic and Cerner
  • Strong understanding of research methodologies related to podiatric medicine
  • Experience with medication administration and wound care techniques
  • Ability to handle data collection for clinical research or quality assurance projects
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments including pediatrics, acute care, or home care settings
  • Compassionate approach with a focus on pain management and improving patient outcomes
