Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As a Settlement Analyst, you will settle or process all transactions assigned on a daily basis in a timely and accurate manner.

What will you do?

  • Process the settlements of securities and handle all trade exceptions on a timely basis
  • Possess good knowledge of the products and systems required to accomplish daily responsibilities
  • Portray a high level of knowledge of Securities Settlements and its various functions
  • Be able to reconcile account differences and issues and articulate to the proper channels what the issues are
  • Have excellent communication skills in order to work with coworkers and internal clients alike
  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Have the ability to deal with high volumes of trades to ensure settlement
  • Reduce risk and cost to the firm by escalating all potential issues to management
  • Assist management with any ad hoc requirements / tasks
  • Be a team player who collaborates well with associates and management
  • Strictly adhere to all firm policies and procedure
  • Have proficient skills in Windows based products such as Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Have the ability to multi task in a pressured environment
  • Remain up to date on a number of desks so as to be able to back fill throughout the year
  • Interface with various business lines and branches along with counter-party operations teams to rectify any settlement discrepancies
  • Be available to work a 7.5 hour day (37.5 hours per week) +1 hour break, occasional overtime required. Within North American business hours (8am 5pm EST)

What will you need to succeed?

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent
  • Good understanding of settlement trade life cycle
  • 0 – 1 year of relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and to solve problems using knowledge and experience
