Bee Able Staffing Services aims to provide supportive services to children, youth and adults faced with challenges and complex needs inhibiting their success. With a qualified pool of CYW DSW and PSW associates, we support group homes, foster homes, family homes, educational establishments, hospitals and nursing homes.
We are currently hiring for a Child and Youth Worker (CYW) in our Mississauga locations for various shifts.
Job DescriptionThis is a casual position, so shifts are based on availability. Regular hours per week are not guaranteed. Candidates can choose shifts that fit into their schedules:
- Evening Shifts 3 PM - 11 PM
- Weekends
1. Provide personalized support to individuals with special needs in both community and home settings, offering assistance with daily living tasks such as meal preparation, personal care, and community outings.
2. Foster engagement in recreational activities to promote the development of social and life skills, while also offering conflict resolution and problem-solving support during challenging situations.
3. Implement harm reduction strategies to de-escalate and stabilize clients experiencing crisis or exhibiting high-risk behaviors, ensuring their safety and well-being.
4. Adhere to care plans and complete administrative duties within specified timeframes, ensuring efficient and effective support.
5. Possess a Human Services Diploma and a minimum of 2 years' experience working with individuals diagnosed with ASD, mental health conditions, or special needs.
6. Demonstrate proficiency in writing incident reports, serious occurrences, and daily logs, as well as the ability to manage difficult behaviors.
7. Capable of implementing Safety Plans and Client Care Plans, with a valid certification in crisis intervention and First Aid and CPR Level C.
8. Possess a Vulnerable Sector Search, Criminal Background Check, and Child Welfare Check, with a valid G License and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.
9. Flexible availability to work various shifts with minimal notice, and motivated by a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others. Contact us to learn more about our available positions if this description resonates with you.
