ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
My Client is redefining how retail and institutional investors benefit from value-add real estate development limited partnerships. My Client is the investment arm of BLDG Development Corporation, a family-owned firm founded in 2015, that enables communities to invest alongside one of Vancouver's premier developers, with a focus on ground oriented family and downsizer townhomes helping ensure that future generations can live closer to home.
Originally launched as a real estate sales company, My Client has evolved into a fully integrated multifamily development platform, with a track record:
- Brokering $600M in Property Sales as a Top 5 RE/MAX Western Canada Realtor, including development sites to Greater Vancouver's leading infill and multifamily builders
- 88 Unit 6 Storey Woodframe Development completed in 2025, Sitka House, Port Moody
- 300+ Units in Development with Options for Limited Partnership Equity Placement including 50 Row Townhomes, Burnaby.
In 2025, My Client was formally launched to open up access to high-quality, community-oriented development returns. This is achieved through the option to fund mechanism that deploys investor capital on building permit issuance, with fixed hard costs, presale requirements and risk-adjusted slab-on-grade construction. Key milestones include:
- 400+ feasibility studies conducted in Burnaby and Vancouver in past 18 months
- 60+ builders applied for limited partnership equity for their Small Scale Multi-Unit Housing Developments
- Fund I funded and in construction and Fund II, a $8M limited partnership equity raise, launching early 2026
My Client, the company's education and marketing arm, has:
- Over 20,000 email subscribers
- Trained over 3,000 real estate professionals
- Built a trusted network of 300 top-producing Realtors for site acquisitions
- Launched affiliate programs 80 partners to expand reach among retail investors

THE OPPORTUNITY: DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
This is a pivotal leadership position for a results-driven professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-focused environment. The Director of Operations will play a critical role in developing and optimizing internal processes, securing the organization structure, and ensuring seamless execution across My Client's Brands. This role is about shaping the operational backbone of a growing company, enabling exponential growth, impact and results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Operational Planning & Implementation: Lead the development and execution of operational strategies that align with the company's long-term growth goals and target $1B in assets under management within 10 years.
- Process Optimization & Efficiency: Design, implement, and continuously improve operational workflows and systems to enhance efficiency and scalability across capital raising, investment underwriting, and real estate development processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integration: Partner closely with the Head of Acquisitions, Head of Marketing and Head of Partnerships to ensure seamless integration of strategies and operations across all business units.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and build high-performing operational teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and regularly report on progress, identifying areas for improvement and strategic adjustment.
- Technology & Systems Oversight: Oversee the implementation and optimization of internal technologies and systems to support efficient operations, including customer relationship management, project management, and financial reporting tools.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies, ensuring adherence to internal policies and relevant industry regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years of experience in a senior operational leadership role within corporate finance, private equity, real estate development, or a related fast-paced industry.
- Demonstrated success in optimizing operational efficiency, implementing scalable systems, and driving measurable improvements.
- Strong background in project management, process improvement methodologies, and cross-functional team leadership.
- High financial literacy and business acumen, with an understanding of real estate investment markets preferred.
- Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
- Operating leadership experience (e.g., CEO, COO) considered a strong asset.
